Give a camp day
Most of the work on a camp day is not clinical. If you can keep a queue moving or translate between a doctor and a parent, you are useful.
Six roles
Registration
Rolls, details, and a queue of four hundred.
Translation
Often the most valuable role on the day.
Counselling support
Sitting with families during referral conversations.
Logistics
Stations, supplies and order.
Card distribution
Handing over and explaining.
Follow-up calling
Finding out whether referrals were attended.
Three steps
Tell us your district and availability
Email support@cad.care with 'Volunteer' in the subject.
Attend a briefing
One session before your first camp, and a short brief on the morning of each.
Confirm the day
We will confirm a date and a role, and tell you what to bring.
Three commitments
A full day
Camp days do not divide neatly into halves.
Confidentiality
You will overhear clinical information. It stays where you heard it.
Reliability
A volunteer who does not arrive leaves a station short and a queue waiting.
Volunteer.
District and availability is all we need to start.
